How to list your artwork on Obramaestra, step by step

Listing an artwork takes about ten minutes once you have your photos and measurements ready. The form has three steps: Details and pricing, Specifications, and Images. This guide walks through each one in the order you will see it, then covers what happens after a collector buys.

If you have not set up your artist profile yet, start with how to write an artist profile collectors trust. Collectors check your profile before they buy.

Before you start

Have these ready and the form goes quickly.

  • Three or four photos of the finished work, taken in daylight.
  • The exact width and height in inches. Depth and weight too, if you know them.
  • The year you made it.
  • Any condition notes, like a corner ding or uneven varnish.
  • How you will pack it. Check our packaging guidelines for your medium and size.
  • The price you want, in pesos. If you are unsure, the Price section below shows what you keep from each sale.

To begin, sign in, open your Dashboard, go to Artworks, and choose to add a new artwork.

Step 1: Details and pricing

Title. The name of the piece. If it has no title, name it for what it shows, like "Carabao at Dusk", rather than "Untitled 4", which nobody searches for.

Description. This is where a collector falls for the piece. Write it in first person, in two short paragraphs. The first opens with your name and home province, then describes the subject, style, and mood, and where the piece would look good. The second gives the facts: medium, size, year, whether it is signed or framed, whether a certificate of authenticity is included, and any condition notes. For example:

I'm Ana Reyes, a painter from Iloilo, and Low Tide at Guimbal is part of my series on the fishing towns of my childhood. Three bancas rest on wet sand under a pale morning sky, painted in loose, layered strokes that keep the light moving. It is a calm piece that suits a living room or a quiet reading corner. Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 36 inches, completed in 2026. Signed on the front, unframed, and shipped with a certificate of authenticity. There is a small paint lift on the bottom-left edge, shown in the last photo.

Medium. Choose the one that matches the work. This is how collectors filter, so an acrylic painting labelled as something else will not show up for people browsing acrylics.

Category. Painting, drawing, sculpture, and so on.

Tags. Up to twelve, separated by commas. Use plain words a collector would search for: the subject, the style, the medium, the place, the size. For example: fishing boats, realism, acrylic on canvas, iloilo artist, large painting. Six accurate tags beat twelve loose ones.

Price. In pesos. Obramaestra takes a 15% commission on every plan, and the form shows what you will receive before you commit. On a ₱20,000 painting, ₱17,000 goes to you. The buyer pays shipping at checkout and all of it goes to you, since you ship the piece yourself. Settle your packing and courier costs before you set the price, and don't round down out of nerves. A price you can explain reads as more confident than one that looks too cheap.

On a 20,000 peso sale, the artist keeps 17,000 pesos (85%), the commission is 3,000 pesos (15%), and the shipping fee goes fully to the artist

Step 2: Specifications

Width and height. In inches, measured from the real piece. Don't round up. Buyers order frames from these numbers, and the shipping fee is calculated from them.

Depth and weight. Optional, but they help a buyer understand shipping.

Year created. Required.

Condition. Optional. Choose the one that honestly describes the piece. A buyer who knows exactly what is arriving won't come back asking for a return. Our returns policy explains when a return applies.

Edition. Every work on Obramaestra is an original, so this is fixed at 1 of 1.

Signed, Framed, Certificate of Authenticity. Tick the ones that apply. Collectors ask about all three, and a listing that answers them up front gets fewer messages and faster decisions. If you have never issued a certificate, Artwork Archive explains why collectors ask for a certificate of authenticity and what goes on one.

Step 3: Images

Upload your photos here. The first image is the one collectors see in browse and search, and the one that shows when your listing link is shared on Facebook or Messenger. Make it the straight-on shot of the whole piece. For a fuller walkthrough of lighting and camera settings, Artwork Archive has a guide to photographing your art like a professional.

  • Photograph in natural light, near a window, with the flash off.
  • Shoot the full piece square to the camera, with no glare on glass or varnish.
  • Crop close to the edges, with no hands, easels, or clutter in frame.
  • Add at least one close-up of the texture or brushwork.
  • If the work is framed or signed, include a photo that shows it.
  • Each image needs a long edge of at least 600 pixels and can be up to 15 MB.

You can tick the watermark option to protect the full-detail view of your images.

AI room render. Once at least one photo is uploaded, you can generate a picture of the work hanging in a room. Choose a scene, generate it, and add it to the listing. It uses the dimensions you entered, so buyers get a real sense of scale, and the artwork itself is never altered. You can crop the render to any aspect ratio. Make one for a home and, for larger pieces, one for a lobby or office, so interior designers and hotels can picture it too. The Free plan includes five renders a month, Artist includes 50, and Pro Artist includes 100.

Save a draft or publish

At the bottom of every step you will find Save draft. Use it if you need to stop and come back; drafts are only visible to you.

When all three steps are done, press Publish. The listing goes live right away and appears on your profile and in browse.

After a collector buys

Here is what happens from sale to payout.

  • You get an email the moment an order is placed and paid. The payment goes into escrow, not straight to you, which is what lets a collector buy from someone they have never met. Our how it works page shows the full escrow timeline.
  • If this is your first sale, you add your payout details. GCash, Maya, or a bank account all work.
  • You pack and ship through J&T Express or LBC, then mark the order as shipped in your Dashboard.
  • The collector confirms it arrived. If they don't, payment releases automatically 14 days after you mark it shipped.
  • Your earnings land in your balance on the Earnings page: 85% of the sale price plus the shipping fee.
  • You cash out whenever you like, any amount up to your full balance. It usually reaches your account within minutes.
  • You and the collector rate each other. Good packing and quick replies build the reputation that sells your next piece.
Seven steps from sale to payout: order paid into escrow, payout details, pack and ship, collector confirms, earnings balance, cash out, rate each other

Collectors can also message you before they buy, often asking for a photo of the back, the signature, or the piece on a wall. Reply quickly. A fast, friendly answer is often what turns a like into a sale.

How many pieces you can list

Commission is 15% on every plan.

PlanMonthly feeListingsAI room renders a month

After you publish

  • Open the listing and read it the way a buyer would. Fix anything unclear. You can edit a published listing at any time.
  • Share the link on your Facebook and Instagram. The first people to look are usually the ones who already know your work. Our guide on where to put your Obramaestra link covers every spot.
  • If the piece sells somewhere else first, take the listing down straight away. Every work here is one of a kind.
  • List three available pieces with a complete profile and you qualify for the Founding 100 Artists program.

If you would rather not do this yourself

Turn on Listing management in your Dashboard, under Account, then send us your photos, the size, medium, year, and price. We will set up the listing and send it to you for approval before it goes live.
