Jorge Fuedan Jr.The seafarer who found his canvas

Jorge Fuedan Jr. is a mixed-media artist from the Bicol Region (currently based in Caloocan City) whose journey into art began unexpectedly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while quarantining in a hotel for over a week before joining his ship, boredom led him to pick up a brush and pencil — resulting in his first seascape painting. What started as a way to pass the time soon became a lifelong pursuit.
Today, Fuedan’s masterpieces are part of the Obramaestra collection. His work has been exhibited at the MOA Art Gallery earlier in 2026, and his talent has drawn recognition beyond the gallery walls. In 2022, he was featured in The Manila Times in an article titled "Seafarer Rediscovered Love for Art," published September 28. His artwork "Homeport" was later chosen as the cover piece for the Dohle office in Germany — a testament to how far his craft has traveled since that first quiet spark of creativity at sea.
