Ripe

Ripe is a realist still life that lets the melon glow against a near-black ground. Loaded strokes of amber, saffron and lemon yellow build the rounded form, while flecks of green and teal along the skin and a dark stem at the center keep the surface alive. Sweeping blades of emerald foliage and slabs of ochre and umber crowd the edges, giving the quiet subject a charged, almost windswept energy. It suits a kitchen, dining room or reading nook, and sits naturally in a collection of Philippine still life, contemporary Filipino realism or Visayan art. Ripe is acrylic on canvas, measuring 12 x 9 inches, and was completed in 2026. The painting is signed by the artist and arrives with a certificate of authenticity.
