Culture Stick Man #10 2025

Culture Stick Man #10 is the tenth figure in my ongoing series. This figurative painting shows a woman in a traditional dress, caught mid-turn so that her skirt sweeps out in a long, dark curve. Her red and white top and sleeves are edged with zigzag and triangle motifs, and fine stripes run along the flowing hem. Nested panels of rust, ochre and pale cream sit behind her, and the mood is graceful, rhythmic and warm. I keep each figure minimal on purpose, so that the shared human experience shows through before any single culture does. As contemporary Philippine art from Mindanao, it appeals to collectors of figurative painting, traditional dress, and pattern-led composition. The golden earth tones and deep black mat suit a living room, study, or entryway, and the piece makes a fitting anchor for a Culture Stick Man collection. This work is acrylic on canvas, measuring 8.5 x 8.5 x 2 inches, and was completed in 2025. It is hand-signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It arrives framed and ready to hang, priced at PHP 10,000.
