The second work in my Ripe series. Here the papaya lies full length across the canvas. Its skin is built from thick, directional strokes of saffron, amber, and orange, with cool teal and moss green gathering along the shaded underside. It rests on dark, earthy ground flecked with pale bark-like marks and sharp blades of grass, so the fruit seems to glow against the shadow. The mood is warm and quiet, a tropical fruit study with the weight of harvest time. Suitable for a dining room, kitchen, or reading corner, it sits naturally beside other Philippine art and Visayan fruit still life in a collection built around everyday provincial subjects. Ripe #2 is acrylic on canvas, 12 x 9 inches, painted in 2026. It's signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is offered unframed so the buyer can choose a frame to suit the room.
