Laba sa Batis 01

Part 01 of the series, Laba sa Batis 01 is a realism painting of a provincial Filipino woman washing clothes in a flowing stream. She sits on a large boulder with an orange cloth wrapped around her head, in a white blouse and a purple skirt, her back to us. Cool water rushes over the stones below her, and dense green forest rises behind. I wanted the mood quiet and unhurried, a small daily ritual of rural Philippine life held in dappled light. As a Philippine art landscape painting with a figure, it suits a living room, dining area, or study, and it will appeal to collectors of Filipino genre painting, rural life subjects, and contemporary realism. This work is acrylic on canvas, 24 x 30 inches, painted in 2022. It is hand-signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is offered framed with a museum wrap and ready to hang at PHP 30,000.
