The Walking Trees

My artwork comprises an interactive play of colors, and my intention is to see the message from a distant view, while at a closer look, its abstract and expressive brush strokes that no photorealistic detail can be observed. My inspiration and appreciation of this subject are derived from my hometown, Calape, where lush mangrove forests can be seen along the Philippines' longest man-made causeway. For almost every sundown as I jog on this very road, the sun hits the trees at a perfect spot where you can appreciate their intricate roots, the golden sun-kissed branches, and the muddy orange reflections on the water. From an artist's point of view, this is a signal to spark my creativity.
